Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, downloading Wiped, or using our services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

2. Service Description

Wiped is an end-to-end encrypted messaging and collaboration platform. The Service includes:

• Direct messaging (encrypted 1:1 conversations)
• Group messaging and encrypted spaces
• Encrypted file transfers
• Encrypted voice and video calls
• Encrypted notes and notebooks
• Calendar management with third-party sync (Google Calendar, Outlook)
• Other features as we release them

All communication on Wiped is encrypted end-to-end by default. We do not access, store, or decrypt your messages.

3. Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old to use Wiped (18 in some jurisdictions)
• If you are under 18, you must have parental/guardian consent
• You must comply with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction
• You may not be a resident of a sanctioned country or on a sanctions list

4. Account Responsibility

When you create an account, you receive a unique account number. You are responsible for:

• Keeping your account number and recovery keys confidential
• All activity on your account
• Notifying us of unauthorized access or breach
• Ensuring your device is secure (Wiped cannot protect against compromised devices)

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use Wiped to:

• Harass, threaten, defame, or harm others
• Send illegal content (child sexual abuse material, weapons trafficking, etc.)
• Distribute malware, ransomware, or other malicious code
• Conduct fraud, phishing, or financial crimes
• Infringe intellectual property rights (copyright, trademark, etc.)
• Spam, scam, or mislead users
• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security or rate-limiting features
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or attack the Service
• Use automated tools to scrape or abuse the Service

6. Restrictions

• No bots or automation: You may not create bots or use automated tools to interact with Wiped (except via documented APIs we explicitly allow).
• No scraping: You may not scrape, crawl, or extract data from Wiped.
• No paid promotion: You may not buy/sell accounts, followers, or engagement on Wiped.
• No impersonation: You may not pretend to be someone else to mislead users.

7. User Content & Rights

You retain all rights to content you create (messages, files, notes, etc.). By using Wiped, you grant us a limited license to:

• Store your encrypted content on our servers
• Transmit it to intended recipients in encrypted form
• Delete it per your request or after TTL expiration

We do not own, access, or use your content for any other purpose. Because content is encrypted, we literally cannot read it.

8. Intellectual Property

Wiped (code, design, icons, documentation) is the intellectual property of Wiped. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute Wiped without permission
• Use Wiped's trademark, logo, or name without authorization
• Create a competing product based on reverse-engineering Wiped

Wiped is open-source in certain components (e.g., encryption libraries). See our GitHub repo github.com/anthropics/wiped for licensing details.

9. Limitation of Liability

• We are not liable for data loss, corruption, or unauthorized access
• We are not liable for service interruptions or downtime
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the last 12 months (or $100, whichever is less)

You understand that encryption does not guarantee 100% security. No system is invulnerable. If you require absolute guarantees, Wiped may not be suitable for your use case.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Engage in illegal activity
• Abuse the Service or harass others
• Violate our Acceptable Use Policy

Upon termination, your account and encrypted data will be deleted within 30 days. We cannot recover deleted data.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice in the app. Your continued use of Wiped constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

12. Third-Party Integrations (Google, Microsoft)

Wiped offers optional integrations with Google Calendar and (planned) Outlook Calendar. By connecting these services, you authorize Wiped to access, read, write, and synchronize calendar events on your behalf using OAuth 2.0.

12.1 Use of Google API data

Wiped's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically, Google user data accessed through Wiped is used only to provide and improve user-facing features (calendar sync, unified agenda). Google user data is never sold, transferred for advertising, used to train generalized AI/ML models, or read by humans except with your consent or when required for security/legal reasons.

12.2 Revocation

You may revoke Wiped's access to your Google account at any time from Google Account permissions or by clicking "Disconnect Google Calendar" inside Wiped. When you do so, Wiped will revoke its refresh token, delete stored OAuth credentials, and delete locally cached Google Calendar data within 24 hours.

12.3 No warranty regarding third-party services

Third-party integrations depend on services we do not control. We do not warrant the availability, accuracy, or continued functioning of Google or Microsoft APIs. If a third-party provider changes, restricts, or shuts down their API, Wiped may need to disable the corresponding feature without prior notice.
