What is end-to-end encryption?

End-to-end encryption (E2E) means your messages are encrypted on your device before being sent to Wiped's servers. They stay encrypted in transit and at rest. Only the recipient's device can decrypt them. Even Wiped cannot read your messages.

Can Wiped read my messages?

No. All messages are encrypted end-to-end before leaving your device. Wiped's servers store only encrypted blobs and never have access to your encryption keys. Even with a government order, we cannot decrypt your messages.

How do ephemeral messages work?

When you set a message timer (30s, 5min, 1h, 24h), the message self-destructs after that time. For "burn on read" messages, they delete after being opened. The message is purged from all recipient devices and Wiped's servers, leaving no trace.

Do I need to provide my phone number or email?

No. Wiped is completely anonymous. You get a random account number at signup — that's it. You can use Wiped without any personal information. Optional email is only for account recovery.

What happens if I lose my recovery keys?

Your encryption keys are derived from your password and stored only on your device(s). If you lose access to all your devices, we cannot recover your account or decrypt your data. Always save your recovery keys in a secure location (password manager, encrypted backup, etc.).

Is Wiped available on mobile?

Wiped is a Progressive Web App (PWA) that works on any device with a web browser — desktop, tablet, or mobile. You can install it like a native app on iOS, Android, Mac, Windows, or Linux. Full offline support included.

How much does Wiped cost?

Wiped has a free tier with full E2E messaging, voice/video calls, and basic features. Premium (€3/month) adds Spaces, larger file limits, and group calls. Super (€8/month) adds unlimited everything. Prices shown in EUR; Monero also accepted.

How do I report a security vulnerability?

If you discover a security issue, please email [email protected] instead of posting publicly. Include details about the vulnerability and steps to reproduce. We take security seriously and reward responsible disclosure.

Can I use Wiped for business?

Absolutely. Wiped is designed for personal and business use. Create private Spaces for teams, share encrypted notes, schedule meetings with the calendar, and collaborate with confidence. Contact [email protected] for enterprise options.
